Noida: Noida: A fire broke out near the Sector 76 vegetable market on Tuesday afternoon, gutting goods in several shops and triggering panic in the area. No casualties were reported.The blaze was reported around 2 pm, with flames erupting in a slum adjacent to the market. Two fire tenders were rushed to the spot. Chief fire officer Pradeep Kumar Chaubey said two to three fruit and vegetable shops, along with heaped garbage and scrap material nearby, had caught fire.

Firefighters sprayed water from multiple sides to prevent the blaze from spreading. The fire was brought under control after nearly an hour. Goods stored in the affected shops were completely gutted.A short circuit is suspected to have triggered the fire, though the exact cause is yet to be established.In another incident, a fire broke out near the district court gate 4 after a leakage in an underground IGL pipeline around 6 pm on Tuesday. The fire was doused by a team from Surajpur fire station.In a separate incident, a fire broke out in a flat at Nirala Estate in Greater Noida West on Monday due to a lamp. The society’s maintenance team extinguished it using in-house equipment.
